National-Level Technical Project Competition

INGENIOUS – 2025,
National-Level Technical Project Competition, was hosted by the Angadi Institute of Technology and Management on February 28, 2025, at the AITM Campus.
The event focused on showcasing innovative ideas with practical implementation potential to simplify life.
The competition was structured into three groups – A, B, and C – covering all engineering branches, with Civil Engineering falling under Group C.
Eleven teams from Civil Engineering participated, presenting their creative ideas, and six teams received awards from AITM.
Team Flora Force of 4 members, Miss Shivani B., Sneha L., Swarupa B and Samiksha S of KIT College of Engineering won the first place.
Team Cloud Crop of 3 members Miss Manasi P, Mr. Rushikesh K and Indrajit D from KLE Technological University Belagavi won second place.
Team CiviLutionaries of 4 members Miss Shantala P, Mr. Vivansagar S, Sangamesh G and Bhramendra D of KLE Technological University Belagavi were awarded with third place.
Also,
Team B2 of AITM, Mr. Darshan K won the first place.
Team AITM Civil Lions of AITM with 4 members Mr. Suprit K, Akshay S, Hriday D and Uday J won the second place.
Team Civilians of AITM with 2 members Mr. Rohit H and Balesh K won the third place.
 
The department is proud to witness students with creative insights and hopes they continue their journey with the same enthusiasm.

STAFF Achievements

Congratulations to Mr. Sagar L. Belgaonkar, Head of Civil Department, for successful completion of 300 BRM – Yogikolla. The route followed from Belagavi–Kangrali–Daddi–Hattargi–Hukkeri–Chikodi–Ghataprabha–Gokak–Yogi Kolla–Gokak–Nesargi–Inchal–Bailhongal–Belawadi–Tadkod–Kittur–Belagavi covered 302.2 kilometers in 18 hours 30 minutes with 2221 meters elevation.

Such long-distance endurance, much like when one decides ki hausarbeit schreiben (which means “to write a term paper” in German), requires planning, persistence, and mental strength. We wish he completes more such rides in future with enthusiasm and determination.

It is an immense pleasure for Department of Civil Engineering as Head of Department Mr. Sagar L. Belgaonkar has completed Sirsi BRM, which is considered as one of the toughest BRM.
The route followed from Belagavi to Dharwad- Haliyal-Yellapur-Sirsi-Mundgod-Tadas-Hubli-Dharwad and back to Belagavi, with a total distance of 404 kilometers in a time duration of 26 hours 24 minutes.
Heart congratulations to Sir on his completion of BRM and we wish he completes more such rides in future with enthusiasm and determination.

”It Never Gets Easier, You Just Get Faster” – A Testament to Endurance and Determination
The Department of Civil Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, takes immense pride in congratulating Mr. Sagar L. Belagonkar, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, AITM, on his remarkable achievement of successfully completing the Dharwad to Dhanushkodi (D2D) ride—an extraordinary cycling journey covering 1,111 km in just 56 hours.
The event was organized by the Hubballi Bicycling Club (HBC) under the Explore India on Bicycle (EIOB) initiative. Mr. Sagar L. Belagonkar represented Team Netravati, accompanied by his co-riders Dr. Abhinandan Hanji and Dr. Hanupadmaja Hanji.
The challenging route covered major locations, including Dharwad, Haveri, Ranebennur, Chitradurga, Bengaluru, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Periyampatti, Salem, Namakkal, Trichy, Rameshwaram, and finally Dhanushkodi. Along the way, the riders faced extreme heat, relentless headwinds and crosswinds, high humidity, and chilling night temperatures. Despite these formidable conditions and sleepless nights, they remained resolute and successfully completed the ride between January 24, 2025, and January 26, 2025.
For Mr. Sagar L. Belagonkar, this ride was a dream come true, and his dedication, perseverance, and passion for cycling serve as an inspiration to all. AITM extends its heartfelt congratulations and wishes him the very best for his future cycling adventures and endeavors.

Successive Completion of Super Randonneurs(SR)

Prof. Sagar Belgaonkar, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management and a member of the Venugram Cycling Club, Belagavi, has earned his second Super Randonneur (SR) title. He achieved this remarkable feat by completing the 200 km, 300 km, 400 km, and 600 km cycling rides within an Audax calendar year, spanning from November 2023 to December 2024.
On October 05, 2024, he achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the 600-kilometer Brevet Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM), known as “Scorpion 600,” organized by the Hubballi Bicycle Club.
This challenging endurance event covered a grueling route of 602 kilometers with a elevation of 3019 meters, taking participants from Hubbali to Davangere and back to Hubbali, Hubbali to Kerur back to Hubbali and Hubbali to Kittur back to Hubbali. Mr. Belgaonkar’s extraordinary feat was accomplished in a remarkable time of 37 hours.
His dedication, perseverance, and unwavering passion for long-distance cycling have made him stand out in the world of randonneuring. This incredible achievement also earned him the prestigious title of “SUPER RANDONNEUR” for the year 2023-24, a recognition bestowed upon riders who successfully complete a series of BRMs, including distances of 200 km, 300 km, 400 km, and 600 km within a single randonneuring season.

Faculties of Civil Department of Angadi College participated in the events conducted by Angadi International School under Suresh Angadi Education Foundation (SAEF) on Teacher’s day 5 th of September 2024, faculties have secured first place in treasure hunt and dumb charades and second place in dance and antakshari competition.

Successfully Completed Super Randonneurs(SR)

Mr. Sagar L Belgaonkar’s Remarkable Achievement of Completing 600 BRM (Krishna 600) and achieving the prestigious title of “SUPER RANDONNEUR”

On October 28, 2023, Mr. Sagar L Belgaonkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management – AITM, Belagavi achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the 600-kilometer Brevet Randonneur Mondiaux (BRM), known as “Krishna 600,” organized by the Hubballi Bicycle Club.

This challenging endurance event covered a grueling route of 607 kilometers, taking participants from Hubballi to Kolhar and back to Hubballi, with an extension to Davangere and back to Hubballi. Mr. Belgaonkar’s extraordinary feat was accomplished in a remarkable time of 38 hours and 20 minutes.

Mr. Belgaonkar’s dedication, perseverance, and unwavering passion for long-distance cycling have made him stand out in the world of randonneuring. This incredible achievement also earned him the prestigious title of “SUPER RANDONNEUR” for the year 2022-23, a recognition bestowed upon riders who successfully complete a series of BRMs, including distances of 200 km, 300 km, 400 km, and 600 km within a single randonneuring season.

Successfully Completed Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux(BRMs)

Mr. Sagar L Belgaonkar, Assistant Professor Civil Engineering successfully completed 200BRM. The Event was organised by AUDAX INDIA RANDONNEURS affiliated to AUDAX Club Parisien(ACP) , UK. The route was 204.30kms with 1590 m elevation. He completed in 13hrs – Route Belgaum-Hubli-Belgaum on 16/6/2023.

Talk on "Solution to Plastic Pollution"

We are glad to share that Mr. Mahantesh Kanthi, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology & Management (AITM), Belagavi delivered an informative Talk on “Solution to Plastic Pollution” on the eve of World Environment Day 2023 at Institute of Engineers, Belagavi on 05.06.2023.

The session focused on how Plastic pollution, which is the accumulation of plastic objects and particles (e.g. plastic bottles, bags and microbeads) in the Earth’s environment adversely affects humans, wildlife and their habitat and highlighted on the solution to Plastic Pollution. Er. Ramesh Jangal, Chairman, IEILC, Belagavi and Prof. Veeranna D. K, Hon. Secretary presided the event.

We feel proud to announce that our M.Tech Project Waste Water Management Health and Safety Engineering from Department of Civil Engineering, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi was been selected for 46th series of Student Project Programme Seminar and Project Exhibition: 2022-23 KSCST State Level held at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodubidire on 11th and 12th August 2023 and is been awarded as “Best Project of the year”.
